Learning Adventures: Designing Learning Experiences for Exploration, Curiosity, and Engagement

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

The most memorable moments of students’ years in school often happen away from the classroom in big games, drama productions, or proms. What if schools were able to shift this reality by designing learning experiences powerful enough to stay with students throughout their lives? This session will explore how Nipmuc Regional High School is taking on this challenge through Learning Adventures - engaging, non-traditional deeper learning experiences that are co-created by students and teachers. The workshop will highlight Nipmuc’s Learning Adventure Team - a group of 24 students and 10 teachers across all schools in the district - that collaboratively designed their own Learning Adventure, paving the way for students across the district to explore Learning Adventures. Participants will hear student reflections and stories from the adventure, receive digital resources with scalable activities, and - most importantly - take steps to design their own Learning Adventure. Join this interactive session and choose your own adventure!
