Teaching Writing in an Online Setting

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Humanities teachers worldwide and at all levels were thrown a curveball in March 2020 when their classes shifted from brick-and-mortar to the virtual setting. In many ways, writing pedagogy changed; in others, it did not. In this workshop, we will examine strategies for the synchronous and asynchronous online teaching of writing. Attendees will leave with strategies for holding virtual paper conferences; technology students can use to strengthen their writing; technology teachers can use to give student-writers feedback; and discuss rubrics and how they can be used to stress skill-building. This will be a hands-on, discussion-based workshop, where educators will leave with ideas they can implement in their next class.
